How much is it, and how does billing work?
The basics are free forever. Pro is a subscription: $6.99/mo or $34.99/yr (save 58%), with a 14-day free trial on the annual plan and cancel anytime. There is also a lifetime unlock: $174.99, a one-time purchase — pay once, no renewal. Updates are included.
Does it work without internet?
Playing does: everything runs on the device — chords, scales, sound, tuner, metronome. On stage, at the jam or on the train. The one thing that needs the internet now and then is confirming the Pro subscription: the app keeps a signed pass good for about 30 days and tolerates roughly 7 more. Go past that with no connection at all and Pro falls back to free until you open the app online once — nothing that is free ever stops.
Do I need an account?
Not to use the app: the whole thing works with no sign-up, offline. The account only comes in when you want to sync across devices and keep a copy of your library — and it hands you the controls too: see which devices you signed in on, download everything we keep about you as a file, and delete the account and that copy whenever you like. Without an account, nothing leaves your device.
How does “identify chord” work?
You build the fingering on the neck — the frets and strings you’d play — and the app recognizes the chord, shows the name and lists inversions and enharmonics. It’s the reverse path no competitor offers.
